Our Approach

Match Maker Fund Management aims to improve access to finance for SMEs in agricultural value chains, especially catalyst and/or lead firms that add value and provide access to inputs, critical services and markets to smallholder agriculture. Our services focus on financing from a value chain perspective.

A sophisticated financial model is used to analyse the financial requirements of the prospects. Before submitting the loan proposals to the Investment Committee, a rigorous appraisal is undertaken of the entrepreneur and its business. Once the loans are approved and disbursed, Match Maker Fund Management staff does its utmost to make the entrepreneur succeed and be able to meet his/her commitments. Although Match Maker Fund Management is a relatively young company, it is growing rapidly. Its ambition is to provide access to finance to SMEs beyond Tanzania, initially through the SME Impact Fund, but later also by managing other funds.
